Columbus Cares

In the relatively few years the mill has been in operation, the people of the Columbus Division have established an outstanding tradition of giving back to the community. SDI Columbus recently sponsored a house for Habitat for Humanity home build in Columbus; and support other local organizations such as the Pushmataha Area Council Boy Scouts, the Good Samaritan Medical Clinic, the Salvation Army Christmas drive, the Sally Kate Winters Children’s Home, Mississippi School for Math & Science, the Rotary Foundation, Columbus Art Council, Columbus Police & Fire Departments, the Boys & Girls Club, Columbus-Lowndes Parks and Recreation, Columbus Air Force Base, as well as multiple other schools and non-profit groups.

In other community-minded efforts, our team has spearheaded a food and supply drive for the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, participated in the local Mississippi Walk for Diabetes and raised over $100,000 for the United Way in 2020. SDI Columbus also supports the Adopt-A-Family program where we adopt over 20 families each Christmas.

We spend many personal hours helping in our community through the Junior Auxiliary of Columbus where we help the children of Lowndes County and their families providing food, clothing and other various needs of school-aged children.
